Terms of service
Last updated: October 29, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Droplog ("we", "us"), the backflow test report service at droplog.org and in the Droplog apps. By creating an account or using Droplog, you agree to them for yourself and for the company you register ("your company").
The short version on payments: every company gets a free 14-day trial to decide. After that, all payments are final and are not refunded, including unused time. Cancel any time and the plan stops at the end of the period already paid. See section 5.
1. Your account
You are responsible for the people you invite to your company, for keeping sign-in details private, and for everything done under your company's accounts. You must be at least 18 and able to agree to these terms for your company.
2. Your work stays your responsibility
Droplog helps you record tests, fill in forms and send them. Your company remains responsible for the tests and services themselves, for your certifications and gauge calibrations, and for the accuracy of what is submitted to customers, water purveyors, cities and other agencies. Pass and fail results worked out by Droplog are a help, not a substitute for your own judgement; check every report before you send it.
3. Trades and plans
Each trade in Droplog (for example backflow testing, or grease trap service) is a separate plan. A plan covers only the trades it names. Using one trade's plan to prepare or send another trade's reports or forms is not allowed, and we may move your company to the matching plan if we see it.
4. Free trial
A new company gets one free 14-day trial, with every feature, so you can decide whether Droplog is right for you before paying. Nothing is charged during the trial. One free trial per person and company.
5. Payments, cancelling and refunds
- Plans renew automatically each month or each year, as you chose, until you cancel. Prices are shown on the Plans page in the app. We give at least 30 days' notice before a price changes.
- All payments are final and non-refundable. We do not give refunds or credits for unused time, partial months or years, unused reports, a plan that was not used, or a plan cancelled before its period ends.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your plan keeps working until the end of the period you already paid for.
- Switching plans or reducing the number of testers: the difference is given as credit toward your next payments, never as cash.
- Failed payments: there is a grace period of 7 days. After that, the company's account becomes read-only until a payment goes through. Your data can still be seen and downloaded.
- Our mistakes: if we charge you in error (for example twice for the same period, or after you cancelled), tell us within 30 days and we will return that charge.
- Card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or keep full card numbers.
- If you subscribe through Apple's App Store or Google Play, their payment and refund rules apply to that purchase, and they decide refund requests.
- This section applies except where the law where you live gives you a right that cannot be waived.
6. Disputes and chargebacks
If you think a charge is wrong, please write to us first at support@droplog.org. We answer billing questions within 2 business days.
Opening a dispute or chargeback with your bank or card company does not cancel your plan and does not make a valid payment refundable. If a dispute is opened for a charge that is valid under these terms:
- we will contest it, and give the bank our records: your acceptance of these terms, your company's plan and payments, and its use of Droplog;
- your company's account may be made read-only while the dispute is open;
- if the bank reverses a valid payment, the amount is still owed, and the account stays read-only until it is paid.
7. Your customers' payments
When your customers pay your company's invoices (online or otherwise), that payment is between your company and its customer. Refunds of those payments are your company's decision.
8. Your data
Your company owns its customer records, reports, photos and files. We use them only to provide Droplog, as described in the privacy policy. You can download your data from the app and delete your account at any time.
9. Acceptable use
Do not use Droplog for anything unlawful, do not try to break, overload or get around the service or its plans, do not try to reach other companies' data, and do not resell Droplog without our written agreement. Water purveyors' portals and forms are used under their own terms.
10. Availability and liability
We work to keep Droplog available and your data safe, but the service is provided "as is", without guarantees that it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or lost-profit damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount your company paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Ending
You may cancel at any time (section 5). We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, after notice where reasonable. We may change these terms; we will tell account owners about important changes at least 30 days before they apply.
12. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which Droplog's operating company is organized. Questions: support@droplog.org.
